Terms of Service

Last updated: August 19, 2026

These Terms govern your use of IndexZero, an SEO research and monitoring platform operated by Afterlume Labs.

They cover what the Service is, how plans and credits work, what you may and may not do with the crawler and the MCP server, and where our responsibility ends, particularly around data we obtain from third parties and output produced by AI.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an IndexZero account, connecting an AI agent to our MCP server, starting a paid plan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and “you” in these Terms means that organisation.

2. Who we are

IndexZero is an SEO research and monitoring platform operated by Afterlume Labs (“Afterlume Labs”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

“Service” means the IndexZero marketing site at https://indexzero.site, the product at https://app.indexzero.site, the IndexZero blog, the MCP server, our APIs, and everything we provide through them.

3. Eligibility, accounts, and API keys

The Service is intended for business and professional use. You must be at least 18 years old to use it.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your credentials secure, and for everything done under your account. One user has one workspace; workspace-level settings, credits, and billing apply to everything inside it.

API keys created for the MCP server carry the same authority as your account for the tools that server exposes, and every call made with one spends your credits. Treat a key like a password: store it in a secret manager, never in a public repository or a shared prompt, and revoke it from the AI & MCP page if it may have been exposed.

4. What the Service does

IndexZero provides keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, backlink data, local search data, and AI-visibility measurement, in a web dashboard and through an MCP server that lets an AI agent run the same tools.

Much of what the Service shows you does not originate with us. Keyword volumes, difficulty scores, SERP positions, backlink profiles, and local listing data are sourced from third-party providers and from search engines themselves. Where you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, the Service reads and displays your own measured data from Google.

Search data is a snapshot of a moving target. Volumes are estimates, rankings vary by location, device, personalisation, and time of day, and providers backfill and revise their indexes. Figures shown in IndexZero are directional inputs for your own judgement, not audited measurements.

5. No guarantee of rankings or traffic

We do not guarantee any search ranking, traffic level, indexation outcome, conversion, or citation in an AI assistant’s answer. Search engines and AI systems control their own results and change how they work without notice.

Recommendations produced by the Service, such as audit issues, opportunity lists, and agent suggestions, are advisory. You decide what to change on your own site, and you are responsible for those changes and their consequences.

6. Plans, credits, and billing

Plans, allowances, and prices are described on https://indexzero.site/pricing and inside the product. Those pages form part of these Terms and may be updated from time to time.

Credits pay for live search data. Each plan includes a monthly allowance that resets on your renewal date and does not roll over. Top-up credits are one-time purchases that do not expire, and spending draws from the monthly allowance before it touches top-ups. Reading your own connected Search Console and Analytics data does not consume credits.

Every paid call is checked against your balance before it runs and recorded against your workspace after. The credit cost of an operation depends on what it asks for, and provider prices can change; we may adjust credit costs and will reflect the current costs in the product.

Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record; by starting a paid plan you authorise recurring charges to your chosen payment method. You can cancel at any time from billing settings, which stops future renewals and leaves your plan active until the end of the period you have paid for.

We may change prices. Changes apply from your next billing period, and we will give notice before they take effect.

7. Refunds

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable. That includes partial billing periods after a cancellation, and credits that have already been spent. Spending a credit buys data from a provider, and that cost is incurred whether or not you found the result useful.

If something has gone wrong, contact us. We will look at it, and we may issue a goodwill refund or a credit adjustment at our discretion.

Starting a chargeback without contacting us first may result in your account being suspended.

8. Site audits and crawling

A site audit crawls the domain you point it at. Our crawler identifies itself as IndexZero-Audit/1.0, obeys robots.txt, stays on the origin you configured, and is capped by your plan’s page budget.

You may only audit a domain you own or are authorised to crawl on the owner’s behalf. You are responsible for having that authorisation, and for the load a crawl places on the site you point us at.

URL inspection and Search Console features require you to have verified ownership with Google. We do not verify ownership independently.

9. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw provider data obtained through the Service as a data product of your own;
  • circumvent credit metering, plan limits, rate limits, or any other technical control, or share one account or API key across multiple organisations to avoid paying for them;
  • crawl, audit, or run URL inspection against a domain you are not authorised to;
  • use the Service to build or support spam, cloaking, scraping-at-scale, or other activity that violates a search engine’s or provider’s terms;
  • attempt to reverse engineer the Service, probe its security, or interfere with its operation or with other customers’ use of it;
  • use the Service in violation of applicable law, or to infringe anyone’s rights.

We may suspend access immediately where we reasonably believe one of these is happening, including where a provider requires us to.

10. AI features and connected agents

The Service includes AI features: an in-product assistant, AI-visibility measurement that runs prompts against AI assistants, and an MCP server that lets an external agent (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or your own) call IndexZero tools.

AI output is probabilistic. It can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken, and it is not legal, financial, or professional advice. Review it before acting on it.

When you connect an agent, that agent acts as you. It can create projects, run audits and trackers, and spend your credits, including in ways you did not specifically intend. The MCP server tells agents which tools cost credits and asks them to confirm anything above roughly 2,000 credits, but that is a safeguard, not a guarantee. You remain responsible for what your agent does with your key, and for the credits it spends.

11. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties, including search data providers, Google (for sign-in and, if you connect them, Search Console and Analytics), AI model providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, and our payment provider. Your use of a third-party service you connect is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of a third-party service, and a provider outage or an upstream change is not a breach of these Terms by us. Where a provider changes or withdraws data we depend on, the corresponding feature may change or be withdrawn too.

12. Your data and our intellectual property

You keep ownership of the data you put into the Service: your domains, keyword lists, notes, connected-account data, and anything else you provide. You grant us the licence needed to host, process, and display it in order to operate the Service for you, and to spend your credits with our providers on your instruction.

We keep ownership of the Service itself: the software, interfaces, scoring and issue-detection logic, documentation, and brand. Third-party data made available through the Service remains subject to its provider’s licence. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is in good standing.

If you send us feedback or feature suggestions, we may use them without obligation or compensation.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, fraud, abuse of a provider integration, or where continuing would expose us to legal or security risk. Where the situation allows, we will tell you first.

You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel your plan from billing settings. To close your account and have its data deleted, email us; we handle those requests as described in the Privacy Policy.

Termination ends your right to use the Service. It does not cancel fees already due, and the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and governing law, continue to apply.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data obtained from third parties or search engines.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that crawls or scheduled runs will always complete, or that stored results will always be recoverable.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Afterlume Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost rankings or traffic, or lost or corrupted data.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 US dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Afterlume Labs and its people and licensors against claims, damages, and costs arising from your use of the Service, from domains you crawled or inspected without authorisation, from actions taken by an agent using your API key, from your use of data or AI output obtained through the Service, or from your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms apply wherever you use the Service. Different jurisdictions provide mandatory protections, and nothing here is intended to override them.

Except where local law requires otherwise, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved under the laws of a competent jurisdiction and in a forum determined under applicable conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section stops you from raising a complaint with a data protection authority or other regulator where you have that right.

We would rather resolve things directly: contact us first and we will try to sort it out.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and may notify you by email or in the product. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, stop using the Service and cancel your plan.
